Peckham is part of the London Borough of Southwark and lies to the East of Camberwell and West of New Cross and Nunhead. Made famous by Del Boy and Rodney from the much-loved sitcom Only Fools and Horses, the area has seen vast regeneration over the last 20 years and a steady gentrification of the area has seen a number of trendy boutique shops, wine bars and artist galleries open up.
Peckham has a vibrant multicultural feel to it, appealing to young professional sharers, couples and families. Peckham is an up and coming area, close to East Dulwich, but far more affordable, with a trendy arty vibe that is now seen as a fashionable place to live.
Rye Lane and Bellenden Road are the main shopping areas with street markets, high street retailers and independent stores. The futuristic and award-winning Peckham Library is situated on Peckham Hill Street and is a thriving community hub with a number of groups and clubs including a knitting club, a homework club and baby and toddler sessions. Also be sure to check out ‘Frank’s’, a trendy pop-up restaurant and bar on the top floor of the multi-storey car park where you’ll find one of London’s best spots to see the sunset.
Peckham offers transport links into Central London and the City, with (National Rail) train stations located at Peckham Rye, Queens Road and Nunhead that can take you into Victoria, London Bridge or Blackfriars within 10-20 minutes. The East London Line also offers excellent links to Clapham Junction and Docklands. Peckham also offers a wealth of good local bus routes to Oxford Circus, Shoreditch, Paddington, Putney, Holborn and night buses from King’s Cross, Tottenham Court Road amongst many others.
The architecture in Peckham is varied and includes examples of Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian, post-war infill and modern buildings. A collection of pretty streets with charming Victorian houses can be found in the Peckham Conservation Area, around the popular but pricey Bellenden Road. Choumert Square has some quaint cottages and local residents open the square each year under the National Garden Scheme. Cheaper pockets of Peckham are located to the North, with colourful shops and houses located between Peckham High Street and Old Kent Road.

"I put my flat on the market with Beresford Residential after seeing a leaflet at a friend's house. Joe gave me a realistic valuation and very quickly arranged viewings. Ryan handled all the viewings and always let me know when he was going to show someone around. I secured very near the asking price within 3 weeks of going on sale. When the property was undervalued by the surveyor, both Ryan and Joe proved just how professional they were and although I had to drop the agreed price a little bit, the sale proceeded. My buyer's solicitors were atrocious and Joe was just amazing, battling every inch of the way to get to the finish line, my solicitor also spoke very highly of him! Beresford Residential on Mitcham Lane is an excellent office and I have recommended them to other potential sellers in my block and I'll recommend to anyone else selling in the area. 5/5 Stars"
