The estate agency industry is largely unregulated and agents are currently left to decide whether they wish to sign up with the various professional bodies that promote best practice within the industry. At Beresford Residential, we have chosen to sign up with the industry’s leading professional bodies so that our clients can rest assured that they are dealing with an accountable and professional agent.
ARLA is the largest professional regulatory body for letting agents. Beresford Residential believe that all letting agents should be licensed to practice, both to protect you the consumer and to encourage and maintain high standards of customer service and knowledge. ARLA keeps its members up to date with changes in legislation and provides wide-ranging training and guidance to assist members in all aspects of letting and managing a property.
Our status as an ARLA licensed firm means that we have ARLA qualified staff in every branch, we hold appropriate Professional Indemnity Insurance, and our client Bank Account is independently audited every year by ARLA which means you can be sure our systems are following the Principles of Professional Conduct set by ARLA.
The NAEA is the UK's leading professional body for estate agency. Our NAEA membership means that we are required to adhere to high standards of professional conduct. In addition to the strict code of conduct, our status as a licensed firm also means that we have an NAEA qualified member of staff in every branch.
The Property Ombudsman provides a free, fair and independent service for dealing with unresolved disputes involving sales and letting agents who have joined the TPO and consumers who are actual or potential buyers, sellers, landlords or tenants of residential property in the UK. Our membership to TPO further demonstrates our commitment to providing a first class, honest and fair service to all of our customers.
SAFE is a mark denoting firms that protect landlords' and tenants' money through client money protection schemes. Our ARLA membership includes a Client Money Protection levy and this scheme means that in the unlikely event that an agent misappropriates rent, deposit monies or other client funds, then the NFoPP will consider an application to compensate you.
Our membership with the London Rental Standard means that we’re committed to providing tenants with an excellent service and meeting all of our legal obligations. This includes things like protecting tenants' deposits and making sure our properties have been safety checked.
Beresford Residential have signed a declaration to maintain public access to open and independent customer feedback. Membership to the Transparent Agents Scheme means that we direct members of the public to our profile, allowing them to leave honest feedback of the service that they have received from us.
"I can't fault the service or professionalism of Beresfords at all in our search for a flat. Ryans suggestion of the flat was by far and away the best from that day. He was very helpful and informative. Darren too was very helpful in what proved to be a bit of a challenging situation trying to get the references sorted out (this was due to my employers mostly so no fault of Beresford's). He was on hand all the time and very quick to reply to all queries that we had. Where he needed too he saught answers for us and was very informative. If I was looking for a rental property again in the future I would definitely be in contact with them again. A pleasure to do business with them."
