From my very first week working as a Junior Sales Negotiator I knew that I was destined to be an estate agent. I’ve never really seen myself as a salesman and although such a statement received a raised eyebrow or two when uttered during job interviews, I think that it is probably what has enabled me to carve out a successful career as an estate agent.

Since joining the industry I have had the opportunity to work for some excellent companies in South West London and I’ve experienced the ‘sales driven’ culture of a growing independent as well as the ‘corporate’ culture of a large agency with a nationwide chain of branches. Whilst climbing the career ladder I have worked as a manager of both sales and lettings departments, and as a consultant to property development companies and private investors. I have also had a lot of experience on the other side of the fence having been a buyer, seller, tenant and a landlord myself over the past few years.

Lucy and I decided that the time was right to launch our own estate agents as between us we had seen what it takes to run a successful agency and we knew exactly what a lot of agents get wrong. When we decided to open an office in Brixton we were confident that by offering the kind of service that we would want to receive ourselves, we would be able to set ourselves apart from a lot of the local competition.

My ambition is to deliver exactly what we promise here. I want our customers to be impressed by the service that we offer at every step of the way and I hope that people come back and use us year after year.

I moved to South West London almost a decade ago and after three years of studying, and with a five-figure student loan to pay off, I came to the conclusion that it was time to find a job! However with only a few weeks left in the student flat that I had been sharing with two uni’ mates, the first thing on my ‘to-do’ list was to find a flat to live in. After spending a day being driven around Putney by an estate agent going from property to property I started to think what a fun job it would be. Two weeks later I had a new flat and a new job as a lettings negotiator!

I have always enjoyed working in the industry and I think it’s a bit of a mystery as to why professional qualifications are not mandatory for all estate agents. The job is not as simple as a lot of people think and to be able to do it properly, in-depth training and a wealth of experience is invaluable. One thing that we are especially committed to is employing talented, qualified and knowledgeable staff so that we can be sure that we are offering the best possible service and advice to our clients.

We aim to build our business based on our reputation and have committed to requesting feedback from each and every client and customer that we deal with. We hope that these kinds of reviews will show future clients what we are like to work with and it will give us the opportunity to improve and evolve if we ever fall short in delivering the high standards that we have set for ourselves.
